Emerging Professionals

The purpose of the Emerging Professionals group is to create a place where students and young professionals can acquire information, training, and advice from experienced engineers and geologists, and personally connect with the Geotechnical community.

CalGeo’s goal is to establish a foundation for future members to build upon, while also strengthening relationships, bridging the gap between academia and business and connecting engineers and geologists. The group promotes community awareness of the geotechnical profession, and develops enthusiasm for the fields of engineering and geology. Our desire is to inspire our youth, and give them the power to make an informed decision regarding geotechnical career paths.

Currently, the Northern California Emerging Professionals meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6-8 pm at various sites in the Sacramento region, with speakers and presentations of interest to the geotechnical community. For more information, please contact Martin McIlroy of Shannon & Wilson at mwm@shanwil.com

Our Southern California Emerging Professionals group is just getting off the ground and is being spearheaded by Neal Berliner of Geocon berliner@geoconinc.com and Mike Cazeneuve of Geotechnologies, Inc. mcazen@geoteq.com Contact them for information and to help!

Our event calendar on the website front page will list upcoming meetings.
