Stego's Revolutionary NEW Product
Pango Wrap Termite/Vapor Barrier
Stego introduces the revolutionary new product Pango Wrap Termite/Vapor Barrier, a below-slab physical barrier against Formosan termites and moisture vapor. Unlike chemical sprays that do nothing to prevent other contaminants from entering the building, Pango Wrap is a true vapor barrier as well as a termite defense barrier. With this two-in-one solution the product provides long term protection that saves time and labor costs during construction. For further information click here.
Be sure to attend CalGeo's conference in Hawaii in April, 2017 to experience a luncheon presentation of this new product AND ANOTHER!

Call For Abstracts in Engineering Geology GSA Cordilleran Section Meeting
Honolulu, Hawaii, May 23-25, 2017
Seeking abstracts for the theme session T31. Engineering Geology of the Western United States. While this session welcomes abstracts on all engineering geology topics, we are hoping for enough to have a subsection on Environmental and Engineering Geology in the Dynamic Coastal Zone. The long coastline of the Cordilleran Section and the meeting location in Hawaii seem the perfect place to consider the importance of engineering geology in the dynamic geologic environment of the coastal zone. Within the coastal zone, oceanic and terrestrial processes make the work of environmental and engineering geologists an important component in providing for our society now and in the future.
Abstract deadline is Feb. 14, 2017. For additional information on T31. Engineering Geology of the Western United States, contact: Jerry De Graff (jdegraff@csufresno.edu), Scott Burns (burnss@pdx.edu), or Steve Martel (smartel@hawaii.edu)
General information such as meeting location, accommodations, field trips, short courses or other technical sessions at the Cordilleran Section meeting can be found at the following link: http://www.geosociety.org/Sections/cord/2017mtg/

Validation of Design Modeling and Performance Benefits of Multi-Axial Geogrids in Paved Structures
By: Garrett Fountain/Tensar Corporation
The use and benefits of multi-axial geogrids in poor subgrade conditions under paved structures has been well documented. However, the modeled benefits of multi-axial geogrids in industry software such as FAARField® have been difficult to verify. Through a unique, site specific accelerated plate load testing process, we can now verify the adequacy in modeling multi-axial geogrids within FAARField® and better understand the actual benefits provided by multi-axial products in various paved applications.
